Overview
The Vivantio Report Builder solution provides a fully featured reporting tool, allowing the design and creation of tailored reports, publish them to Vivantio and run them at a specified date and time. There are two options when creating reports. First is through the Wizard that helps you select the Tables, Fields and Table Parent, Child Relationships. Then build the Parameters and Filters. The Second option if you have previous SQL experience is to build the whole report in SQL. This second option is not enabled by default and would require you to contact support@vivantio.com to get this enabled on a user by user basis.
Guidance
The first step in using the Report Builder is to log into your database:
Navigate to Admin Area > Reporting > Reports > Features > Enable Report Builder
Ensure the Access Control to Use Report Builder (at least) has been given to the Users Role
In the example below, anyone with the following Roles will be able to use Report Builder:
Administrators
HR
Practitioner
Technician
Senior Support Technician
Marketing Group
Operations Group
Download the Report Builder (Important: Please uninstall any previous versions you have installed of Report Builder before downloading a new version)
Please Note: Report Builder does not work with Apple Mac.
Use your login and password that you use for the main Vivantio system (Note: this may be different to your SSO). The Server URL can be found within:
Admin Area > Integration & API > Downloads > Platform URL
If you unable to access the Report Builder, this could be caused by your firewall blocking access to the Web Server. Please try logging into the Report Builder outside of network or contact your IT team to check that your Server URL is allowed to bypass the proxy server (outgoing traffic).
Once you have logged in, you are ready to start creating reports.
To make creating reports as simple as possible, the Report Builder includes an easy to use wizard, which will help you set up the data you want to appear, any filtering or parameters you want to add, and the order in which the data will appear in the report.
The ability to schedule a report to one of more specified email addresses on a regular basis is a feature of Reports. Scheduled Reports can be found under the Scheduled Events section of the Global Settings in the Admin Area. Please see the Help Article in Scheduled Reports for further information and guidance on Scheduling a Report.
