Dashboards

Overview

Within Vivantio, Dashboards are a facility whereby current Ticket data can be summarized in chart format. One Dashboard is able to display a collection of related charts. It is possible to drill down into a particular chart to see exactly which Tickets are making up that part of the chart.

By default Vivantio comes with a standard set of charts but it is possible to reconfigure these and create new charts and dashboards to better fit with an organization’s requirements. Typically charts are used to display data on either open Tickets, that is to say Tickets that have work to be done to them (activity charts) and closed Tickets that have had their work completed (performance charts).

It is recommended to review what Ticket data would be useful to display in dashboards before going live with them in Vivantio. This could include the provision of additional dashboards that are set to be visible to different roles.

Guidance

Navigate to the Admin Area > Reporting > Dashboards

To create a new Dashboard, ensure the Chart has been created first; please see Charts in the Admin Area of Vivantio. Populating the blank chart is simple with the drag and drop feature. Simply drag in the chosen chart and drop it on to the chosen section of the canvas. Each layout contains different size and number of boxes to custom your Dashboard. If charts have been created for different system areas then they will appear in folders of the system area name in the left hand menu, click on the + to reveal the folder contents and the - to collapse the folder.

Please Note: it is not currently possible to create a chart that displays a mixture of different ticket types, though individual charts of multiple types can be included on a dashboard and once a chart has been created, it is not possible to change which ticket type it applies to.

There is a feature ‘Render Dashboard Charts in Accessibility Mode’ that when enabled will cause dashboards to render tabular datasets rather than visual charts, to improve access when using screen readers or other assistive technologies.

Please Note: This provides the best experience for a user with visual impairment and/or using assistive technologies such as screen readers.

The feature is available via User > Preferences

It can be enabled on a ‘User by User’ basis
